WIDA has created a document to help content and ESOL teachers assist student with writing in the classroom. WIDA’s focus on writing explicitly outlines how teachers should scaffold Narrative and Argumentative writing. The document also outlines how writing exemplifies the skills of recount, explain, argue, and discuss in unique ways. Any teacher with a struggling writing student can use this resource to align their lessons with CAN DO Descriptors and English Language Development standards.
